Workshop Facilities
Willow weaving day for 10 members of one family. They had a great time!
Homemade vegetarian food is available in the Naff Caff. There are facilities for the disabled, including toilet, shower, and wheelchair access throughout. There are camping facilities for weekend events, with on-site drinking water, wind-powered electricity, and compost toilets, including disabled. The site is available for hire on a daily or weekly basis.
Classes in woodworking are taught by Julien Cole, using a pole lathe as well as an electric lathe. Students can create finished products using both wood and willow, such as footstools, wooden lamps with willow lampshades, and chairs. Most materials used are grown locally.
The workshops are held in a spacious barn, with views of the Wolds painted on the walls.
People of all ages and abilities can learn the ancient skills, creating something practical and beautiful which they can take home.
